And a river (packed with more history) together with the railway (love the viaduct) makes Knaresborough definitely worth a visit!

The viaduct is striking โ€“ it’s crazy the river rose so much after the original one collapsed, you wouldn’t think it would make such a big difference! The castle and church looks interesting, too.

This especially applies to river towns that were busy commercial and religious centers. We traveled through York on our last UK trip and I’m sorry we missed Knaresborough. Great photos! ~James
