At least 2 generations of my family lived in Aldeburgh, from at least 1665. This itinerary has provided me with a good basic start for my first visit to Suffolk, in November.

I’m so glad you enjoyed it 🙂 Oh for sure, I really think Suffolk is a totally underrated gem in England, and often missed from visitors’ radars as well. I hope you get to visit Dunwich soon, it really is so beautiful, especially with all the heather out and the beach is wonderful.

Enjoyed that, thank you. Orford, Aldeburgh, Thorpeness and Southwold are all lovely. But Walberswick and Dunwich have been on my list for ages – particularly the latter, Britain’s Atlantis and all that! Very atmospheric. Suffolk is full of beauty and history.
