I worked as an Athletic Therapist (like a sport physiotherapist), so for the Games we would get assigned various teams to work with as well as treating in the clinic. I lived in Athletes Village which has an amazingly energized atmosphere. I also got to go to Opening Ceremonies with the athletes, which was so much fun.

That’s amazing that you’ve been to 5 Games, wow!! What was your role on the medical team? I had the best time and am so grateful to have been able to go to the Games. I doubt I will get to LA, but perhaps I’ll tie in Brisbane with a much longed for trip to Australia!

I love the Olympics too. I’ve been to 5 Games, but all as medical staff on the Canadian medical team. I don’t get to see a lot of competition, but when I do, it’s amazing. It was such a special experience and I feel very lucky to have experienced it. You’re right – the Girma accident was really awful and I’ve never seen one so bad, it really had me shaken. And Matt Hudson Smith in person, honestly I lost my voice from screaming him on! haha!!
